We’ve curated a list of children’s books by local Minnesota authors and illustrators that you can purchase through Babycakes Book Stack, an independent mobile bookstore whose mission, “see yourself on the shelf,” closely aligns with ours. When you shop from this list, your selected books are shipped directly to R.E.A.D. With Me MN and go straight into teacher book sets, school donations, and community distributions.

While we’re always grateful for monetary donations, this is a hands-on (and fun!) way to support our work. You get to choose the exact books that will end up in the hands of children in our community. It’s also a great opportunity to discover and support the incredible local children’s authors and illustrators we have here in Minnesota. This list isn’t exhaustive, many amazing creators are self-published, but it’s a meaningful place to start. Thank you for helping us get more diverse, representative books into classrooms and communities.
